| Why is Herman Cain still in the running? |
|
Same reason Rick Perry is still in the running.
Mitt Romney consistently gets about 23% of the vote in the Republican caucuses and primaries. The other 77% of Republican voters have been moving from one alternative to another, trying to find someone, anyone, other than Romney. This is why obvious "can't win without Diebold" candidates like Cain and Perry are still in the race.
Eventually, that 77% is going to lock in on someone. After they're done rejecting the other alternstives, don't be surprised if they migrate to someone far down the current polls, or not yet even in the race.

|
at least he's a national brand name. The others aren't, and probably never can be.

| 2. I have a slightly different take: |
|
Edited on Wed Nov-02-11 07:44 AM by Le Taz Hot
Because the Republicans want to push to the forefront an African-American to try and whitewash ('scuze the pun) their racist history and their TeaKanner supporters. I know, you know, most thinking people know that a whole lot of their voters would never vote for an African American. It's all PR and when all is said and done, Romney will be their guy -- something that was decided a long time ago and without a vote ever being cast.

| 6. I agree. Its funny though because when Ann Coulter makes remarks like |
|
Our blacks are better than their blacks, the racism shines right through. So apparently "Good blacks" want to privatize social security, take away women's rights, invade other nations oh and sexually harass women?
Way to go Ann. Nice try. Your party is racist. Own it.

|
...it's a not-so-subtle way of saying most blacks are no good. Of course, whites, Hispanics, Asians, and Native Americans who are not "theirs" are no good, either.

And his publisher has confirmed that he has not moved enough of the books that the Koch brothers backed.

I guess it would be different having a felon who got caught smuggling contraband through U.S. Customs in the lining of her suitcase as a First Lady. The Bush crime family always keeps it interesting.

| 10. Nah. Nothing happens at the conventions anymore. The establishment picked the nominee months ago. |
|
The problem is still trying to make the rank & file zombies suck down that brain-limited diet. Cain is and will remain a mere distraction, a breathing rallying point for the jillionaires to force their nutty anti-growth snake oil onto the rest of the GOP.

|
Slightly more likely this time as they've gone away from the winner take all state primaries for the larger states. The winner take all in Florida gave the nomination to McCain last time when he vnever even had 40 % of the party behind him until he closed the nomination.

The ones whose sense of reality trumps their ego are sitting it out. They don't want to wind up like Donald Trump or McCain (eg. laughing stocks).

Romney can pile up delegates by collecting them at winner take all primaries with a 25% plurality. He has the bucks to do just that by outspending all the others. If the loonwing can rally around one loon Romney is done.

If Cain stepped out of the race, they'd have to hire a new clown to take his place as the rubber chicken whacker in the clown parade. The show must go on, you see.
