| Bachmann whining about 'Lyin' Ass Bitch' |
|
Cuz repugs would never call anyone bitch (cough..Hillary..cough). At campaign stops in 2008, McCain followers would step up to a mic to call Hillary a bitch. McCain never once stopped them, or told them not to say it. No one ever demanded an apology from anyone. The difference is, one was an instrumental version of a song with an offensive name, the other was calling someone a bitch on camera and a crowd laughing about it. http://news.yahoo.com/bachmann-fallon-song-choice-shows-sexism-bias-165708397.html

| 12. That being rather beside the point, but . . . |
|
If, for example, you flipped me off behind my back and we both went our separate ways, what would be the harm? I suppose some busybody who saw the exchange could come running up to me to say, "Oooh, sufrommich flipped you off when you weren't looking!" In the abstract (like in the context of this post), I hope I would just shrug it off. If I was in a weird mood, I might say to the busybody, "Oh, hahaha, that's our thing." If you and I were frequent acquaintances or even friends, I suppose I might ask you about it later. But most likely, I'd just forget about it, which I think is the adult thing to do.
And that may be the most likely explanation for this nontroversy to be continuing.

national TV show and although I didn't see it, millions did. After I get off the stage someone says to me "Hey,gratuitous flipped you off" and a little later Fox News asks me what I think of that. Don't get me wrong,Bachmann will play this for all it's worth, but it was a bad, childish decision to use a misogynistic song to begin with, just because it was used againt someone I don't like doean't make it OK.

|
I'm guessing that Hillary Clinton, when it was brought to her attention, would have passed it off without another mention. Some of her supporters would no doubt be offended on her behalf, but my opinion of Ms. Clinton is that such sophomoric antics barely register with her. Certainly she's been on the receiving end of much worse. If there is a double standard, it's the difference between the reactions of Ms. Clinton and Ms. Bachmann to the slights each has received.

Not like "You're So Vain," or "Before He Cheats," or "Diamonds and Rust." Those can hardly be mentioned in the same breath with the wildly popular Fishbone song that I'll bet not 10 people at DU had heard of before last night.

Unlike Asshole, which is pretty much a parody of how men at that time were obnoxious (which I know you have stated you absolutely do not care about....men's issues I mean.....just pointing it out.)
I never heard of Lyin' Ass Bitch until yesterday, and I listened to a fair amount of Fishbone and Reel Big Fish in college.

"People who live in glass houses..........." Looks like someone can dish it out but runs crying when someone does it to her. Someone should play it at every event of hers from now on. Park a "thumper" nearby and let it rip.
Isn't it funny that there are claims of sexism coming from someone who longs for the times when sexism was rampant in our society.

This has nothing to do with Bachmann, and everything to do with people refusing to fight sexism.
People apparently are capable of understanding that racism is wrong, full stop.
With sexism, apparently they want a little wiggle room.
Well guess what? No. You don't get it. It is wrong. Full stop.

Bachmann cares more about being called a liar than a bitch. She pretty much said so. It's all part of her media warfare......all because she hopes to get elected to an office where she can start stripping you of your rights left and right.
