Jeff City student flies into St. Louis after release in Egypt

He said accounts of what happened before he and two other Americans were arrested were inaccurate. None of them ever had or threw any bombs or rocks, he said, nor were they on top of a building.

Derrik Sweeney said he and his friends were on the street near the interior ministry during a protest when they were arrested.

Authorities took away their bags and returned with bottles of liquid with which the three men were photographed.

“That was the scariest moment of my life,” he said.
