| Bird feeder sparks hope for future of U.S. economy |

Video at the link. Story ideas are sent to television reporters from all sorts of places. But for one reporter it was a trip to a home improvement store to buy a bird feeder that left him a bit more optimistic about the future of manufacturing in America. http://www.ksdk.com/video/2079998248001/1/Bird-feeder-sparks-hope-for-future-of-US-economySmall business take notice.

I love the idea of employee ownership. It's an idea that is poo pooed by U.S. bidnessmen.
Pretty little woodpecker. I used to spend hour upon hour deer hunting, wearing camouflage. The little forest birdies would almost land on me. I have many stories.

that'd be cute to have birds bouncing around you up in a tree not realizing you're there.

Bird have highly developed color vision. Breaking up your outline and color with camo really makes a huge difference.
Deer move better at dawn and dusk so that is when many of us are out there, er, were out there back in the day.
One evening I was seated on the ground hoping to have a deer come into the bow shooting area in front of me. Didn't happen. But, something incredible did happen. Suddenly a silent bird of prey swept past my head from behind, narrowly missing me. It must have been a small owl as it was nearly dark. I can picture this guy having his talons open ready to grab the back of my head that he mistook for a vole or squirrel. Scary shit! I have had grouse and squirrels almost in my lap and deer almost close enough to touch. My friends have had coyotes and foxes almost in their lap.
Bird watchers should try camo.
