SOUTH BEND — St. Joseph County Prosecutor Michael Dvorak said Thursday he will not file criminal charges against a University of Notre Dame football player who was accused of sexual assault by a late Saint Mary's College freshman.
Elizabeth Seeberg, 19, told Notre Dame police she was sexually assaulted Aug. 31 in a Notre Dame residence hall by the player.
She committed suicide nine days after filing the Sept. 1 report.
Seeberg alleged that the player touched her breasts, Dvorak said, which prosecutors were reviewing as a potential sexual battery charge.
The Tribune is not naming the player since he is not charged with a crime.
