Report: Italian TV bans explicit 'lesbian' Renault car ad
A television ad for Renault's Twingo, a small European car, has been banned by some Italian broadcast outlets because of its overt lesbian sexual theme, London's Daily Mail reports.
The ad is indeed sexually charged, so much so that we're not going to post it here on Drive On. Instead, and just as easy, we direct you to click here to go to You Tube so you can see what all the hubbub is about.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZBNaVt4ozB0Says the Daily Mail:
The (ad) was made by Publicis, but state TV RAI and surprisingly Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi's Mediaset empire have refused to air it. TV commentator Nino Materi said: 'The tension in the commercial is electric - as the blonde licks her lips so are the audience.' Italian newspaper Corriere Della Sera said: 'Is it controversial or cutting edge? One thing for certain though at no point during the (ad) is any technical aspect of the new Renault Twingo ever mentioned."
That's right: If you want an in-depth discussion of the car's horsepower or gas mileage, you'll have to go elsewhere. This ad has other things on its mind. Still the car comes out the winner.

I would certainly buy their blender, err whatever the hell it was they were selling, and am not sure what the problem is with it.
I better watch a few more times so I can understand
