So there are reports of an assassination attempt on Egypt's new VP, Omar Suleiman

(of course State officials are denying it but CNN has confirmed).

What I don't understand is why they would want to assassinate the VP (whomever "they" is). Is Suleiman working on the "transition" against Mubarak's wishes, so someone from within Mubarak's camp attempted to kill him? I just don't get the reasoning for assassinating a VP.
