Or is everything going to decline even further than it is today?
Will wages finally start to go up again? After 30 years with almost no growth, it is unlikely.
Will they save Social Security and the safety net for our people?
Will they finally get out of the unaffordable and unnecessary wars?
Will the Democrats finally decide to defend the interests of the people over those of the corporations?
What is the end game?

The powers-that-be have milked our generation for all its worth, and never planned on letting us in on any of it at the ends of our own lives.
The fact that we were such a large generation was the only reason that ANY generational group had any largess along the way. (our extra money paid was what allowed those "GG" folks the decent lives that many of them enjoyed for such a long time). The plan was never for US to benefit..our money was useful, but the government has no use FOR us, once we are no longer pouring gobs of cash into the coffers.. We are S.O.L.

We are in for a harsh, cold era in the United States.

posted in another DU thread the good times we had that some of us remember might have been atypical and now we are returning to the norm. That, is a horrible thought. ...but, there is so much money involved now in the buying of politicians and a willing supreme court, I really wonder how the majority of us will dig out of this one.

Try to name a prosperous low wage country. You can't. Low wages further depress economic activity. Dump more and more government employees on the street, you create even less economic activity. Ship all the jobs out looking for even lower wages, it keeps getting worse. Lower wages, less jobs, and more tax cuts, more debt results, more cutting.....we're cannibalizing the country with what we are doing for the multinationals.

| 15. That would require a few things: |
|
1) That America collectively stop blaming Democratic politicians and "teh lazee have-too-little welfere queenz" for everything wrong with it.
2) That the American people recognize the true enemies and terrorists of this country - the corporations and the wealthy that run them.
3) That American people stop believing in Horatio Alger.
4) That the American people would all be on the same page with this.
5) That the American people would stop believing everything their corporate-owned "news" channels tell them.
The privileged class isn't going to get the point until they're running for their lives.
And unless we start making them run for their lives, absolutely NOTHING is going to change.

No chance. Naturally, I hope I'm wrong, but that hasn't tended to be the case in these matters. I hate that.
Endgame?
Well, they believe they have all the necessary machinations of control in place. Their going to basically do a 'controlled demolition' on us. They have one side programmed to believe their fellow Americans are the enemy, while the other side is desperately trying to educate them... which plays right into the 'They think they're smarter than you!' meme.
So, when the final straw falls, the mindless hordes will be told that radical, freedom-hating liberals are responsible. They'll be given hunting permits, and *poof* we're officially an overtly fascist nation.

The SYSTEM must be changed before we will ever begin to think about flipping the switch to start shifting wealth/income back to the majority of Americans.
Laws must be changed and we will have to demand they change. Our current system will continue to drain the wealth/income of the remaining middle class.

So why wouldn't it get better.
Someone is going to send me the beer and travel money that is due.
Why would that be getting worse, the whole world might crumble in the process, but that would be because of the lack of just correction, and those that think they are going to get away with what they are, or are not, doing.
And I was posting that before noticing it was also a metaphor, so some thing trying to co-opt the fact that I am due beer and travel money for some other reason does not do that to help correct the debt of beer and travel money that is due to me, and could be part of the problem, if that due is not corrected.
That is a literal debt that is due to me.

My point is this, the things that might help someone, do not really help me, so I share them thinking they might help someone, I could steal then sell them, but that would be wrong, and not how I think about it.
However some think it is them stealing when they are given, and by that intent they are wrong, that does not make that which does not help me have no value, it only means it should be shared to have value somewhere. Although those with wrong intents, it won't help them in the spiritual.
Although you could say that it not helping me get the just due is an indicator of wrong intents on my part, the not helping me is because the help I need is not in the spiritual, and the material group destroys themselves not realizing that.
And I am due beer and travel money, and many experiences.

down hill from here. The politicians are too entrenched, the wages will not go up, why should they? If these wars ever end, they will find another excuse to go to war. SS well I'm sure you have seen the hand writing on the wall that is THEIR piggy bank to steal from and they are not going to give it back.
Big Question
"Will the Democrats finally decide to defend the interests of the people over those of the corporations?" That is to laugh at. Corporations are their true constituents, not we the people.
Yes I think it will decline more. As for what is the end game? Who the hell knows. I don't understand my Party any more, what I believed was sacred to them, and me, no longer matters to them.
