It's time: Ed Schultz appreciation thread. I'm fired up like no time since 2002 and Iraq.

Ed Schultz is a bulldog who has not let go of this story, and this has defined him more than any other. He has been a beacon for unions and those of us on DU, and don't underestimate Chris Hayes' work, too. Superb.

But this is about Ed. Extraordinary. I stand with Ed and with the workers in Wisconsin, Michigan, Florida, Tennessee, Ohio, and all the other states where the Koch brothers have set this obvious powerplay up.

I miss Keith now more than ever, and Jon Stewart has not grasped the magnitude of this moment. Rachel is wonderful, but this one belongs to The People first.

Ed has set himself apart with his dedication and eloquence. Thank you, Ed Schultz. You have not always been treated well here on DU, but as an old-timer here, I will dare to say, we stand with you now, and we are now all Cheeseheads.

More now than ever before.

Think of all the bad things they have said about Ed over the years at FreepWorld.
Then think of all the guys you worked with or were related to that was just like Ed.

Always there ready to go, always on time and prepared for the day, and always willing to pitch in to help everyone else get off work on time.

He's the guy you could call at 2 AM if your car broke down.
During a record snowstorm.
And you knew he wouldn't be mad about it.

He's the guy that you could ask to borrow $10 bucks from until payday on Friday.
And before you're done asking the question, he's already reaching for his wallet.
And never bothers to ask for the money back because he trusts ya for it.
And you knew he wouldn't be mad about it.

But, just tell him they are shutting down the 3rd shift after the boss got a raise and look out!
He was the one that was worried about the graveyard shift guys coming back to work later on.
He was the one that wondered outloud if management hadn't gotten too greedy, once again, and that we couldn't somehow keep the plant open 24 hours a day.
He was the one that looked out for everyone else while never seeming to be as thoughtful of himself.
