Another update from my daughter at the capitol

She went inside the capitol for awhile. It is peaceful inside, but not quiet. Of course, they are packed inside, too. They sang some patriotic songs while she was there.

Right now, a lot of the teabaggers are leaving. Their rally is over, so they are getting into their big SUVs and onto their buses and going home. They don't like it when they are outnumbered.

Breitbart was there. He called the public employees a cancer. Another of the baggers, carrying one of those "Don't Tread on Me" signs, tried to provoke the crowd. No one fell for it.

The Union Cab Company, and employee owned business, is parading around and around the capitol in their cabs, in support of the protesters. (Buncha damn soshalists)!

My daughter thinks Monday should be a big day. It is a furlough day for state employees. Contrary to what Walker and the anti-union types have said, the public employees have been working with government to keep costs down. They have eight unpaid furlough days per year. But it looks like a lot of them may show up in Madison on Monday, so the crowds could swell even more. I don't know where they will put them!

She has been there since morning, and is walking home now. She lives about two miles from the capitol. Her roommate is still at the capitol, and someone has to let the dogs out.

I thanked her on behalf of DU. If there are any more updates, I will let you know. Maybe there will be updates from her roommate when she gets back.

She has not heard one word about Clinton showing up in Madison.

8. Monday is a Federal holiday.

Banks and post offices closed for President's Day.

I'm so old I remember Lincoln's Birthday and Washington's Birthday and they got rolled into a floating 3 day weekend like all the other official holidays.
