Council Of Conservative Citizens Calls For Boycott Of Thor Over Black Actor

The Council of Conservative Citizens has launched a website calling for a boycott of the new Marvel comic-inspired film Thor, because a character is being played by a black actor.

The CCC is the contemporary incarnation of the segregationist Citizens Councils, which sprung up across the South in the wake of Brown v. Board of Education and which possible Republican presidential candidate Haley Barbour praised in a recent interview.

"It seems that Marvel Studios believes that white people should have nothing that is unique to themselves," a post on the CCC's website reads. "An upcoming movie, based on the comic book Thor, will give Norse mythology an insulting multi-cultural make-over. One of the Gods will be played by Hip Hop DJ Idris Elba."

Boycott-thor.com expands on the CCC's position:

Marvel has a history of advocating for the left-wing. In early 2010 they even used their Captain America comic to attack the TEA Party movement. Marvel front man Stan "Lee" Lieber personally funds left-wing political candidates. Now Marvel has inserted left-wing social engineering into European mythology, casting a black man to play a Norse deity.

A US white supremacist group has called for a boycott of the Kenneth Branagh-directed superhero movie Thor on the grounds that a black actor has been cast in the role of a Norse god.

The Council of Conservative Citizens is upset that London-born Idris Elba, star of The Wire and BBC detective series Luther as well as a number of Hollywood films, is to play deity Heimdall in the Marvel Studios feature. The group, which opposes inter-racial marriage and gay rights, has set up a website, boycott-thor.com to set out its opposition to what it sees as an example of leftwing social engineering.

"It is well known that Marvel is a company that advocates for leftwing ideologies and causes," the site reads. "Marvel frontman Stan 'Lee' Lieber boasts of being a major financier of leftwing political candidates. Marvel has viciously attacked the Tea Party movement, conservatives and European heritage.

"Now they have taken it one further, casting a black man as a Norse deity in their new movie Thor. Marvel has now inserted social engineering into European mythology."

in which the color of Heimdall is discussed. In fact, he is a rather obscure deity. Thor is of course red-headed. Humans are not descended from the gods, but made by them out of an ash and an elm tree (the ash tree origin of the male is well established, but the elm to woman connection is not firm). Thus there is no imagined genetic connection between gods and people, and no particular teason other than maybe some old paintings to think that the gods have any particular racial appearance.

In the last few decades, many if not most of the white racist hate groups have moved from being Christian, to worshiping the Norse gods. Why? Because they finally agreed that Christianity is an inclusive religion at least as far as race is concerned and that Jesus was Jewish by birth. They could accept neither of these facts and stay in that religion so they went to Norse mythology and started worshiping Odin and Thor and the other Norse gods. Therefore, Hollywood's portrayal of one of these Gods as black is an unforgivable sin to the white racist hate groups.
