Scared White Men....

That should be the new moniker of the Republican Party...

With each day that passes, SWM see a rising rainbow on the horizon and they don't like it.

They see breakthroughs in science that will shift our main energy base from hydrocarbon, which they are heavily invested in, toward hydrogen based energy sources.

They see women making strides in every area of the government and the economy.

They see brown, black, yellow and every skin hue from A to Z throwing off the last vestiges segregation and they are scared, scared that their dominate position in what some still claim is the most powerful country in the world.

And yet their opposition is causing this country much harm by encouraging re-segregation into groups which pit one against the other.

I see loads of hope in the coming generations who are mostly color blind and sexually neutral when it comes to rights.

The rebuke of the Clinton era don't Ask Don't Tell crap is just another tell from the liberty bell as more and more barriers keeping our country from being that shining city on a hill that ronald Reagan and the original settler of New England waxed nostalgic about are struck down.

For the first time in many years, maybe my lifetime, I feel more optimistic about our country.

I am a white man over 50. I don't always understand what is going on but I trust the generations coming behind me, no, that's not right, in front of me to take this country to where it really should be by doing nothing more than bring alive these words that Pa Kent sent Superman off into the world...

Use your powers "in the interests of truth, tolerance and justice."

That, to me, pretty much sums it all up and this was written in 1948 probably by Jewish sons of Immigrants who found freedom in New York City...

The GOP has been ENTITLED ... they are SUPPOSED TO BE the rulers of the universe. That is how they see things.
