Target CEO Greg Steinhafel was forced to make an apology, and promised to begin a "review process for future political donations."

1. Target is a huge union-buster as well. I have no idea why it gets a pass from some.

Target has its bad areas but at least they actually donate to some good things. They were better in the past though. Blame the CEO.

Then they sold off the company and it became a corporate asshole like all of the rest.

as that was the one brand they had most recognized nationally.

The funny thing is most the Daytons were Republicans - but "old school" Republicans like former Gov. Elmer L. Andersen who thought they did have a responsibility to the commons good.

Mark Dayton tells a story about one of his "more conservative" (Mark's words) cousins complaining about paying more taxes and his (Mark's) dad telling the cousin to be happy he's paying more because that means he's doing better.

8. i stopped shopping at target when they introduced the grocery sections

like, the serious grocery sections. meat and produce and everything you can find in a grocery store.

i didn't shop there much before that, but living in minnesota, it was pretty convenient to just go there sometimes.

But the grocery section equals pure union busting. No thanks. I'll pay another couple of bucks and support my class...

9. From a Buy Blue printout I have from - egads - 2005...

Target is rated as 17% "Dark Red" and donated over $300K to Republicans/regressives. In contrast, Costo Wholesale Corporation is rated 99% "Dark Blue" and donated over $300K to Democrats/progressives. I haven't looked into what current rankings are.

Not sure why so many think Target is blue; probably because it's not Walmart.

used to divide up the amount that it gave fairly decently between red and blue but not so much anymore. They also used to give big to education.

My husband had to take a job at target a few years ago and they were very clear on their stances. Both Target and Best Buy inlude training on how awful unions are.
