2. The President's FORMER Chief-of-Staff can kiss my ass.

If they can't MAKE us move, then, eventually, they will have to come to US. We might not like it in the meantime (where they haven't figured this out yet), and we might have to suffer the "slings and arrows" of their lack of vision, but if we STAY, eventually, we WIN. This made my Holiday, and a Happy Holiday to all here.=)

6. I grew up in Oklahoma and had to leave at 18 to find meaningful work as a journalist.

I do believe, despite what Coburn, Inhofe and their ilk would have Oklahomans believe, the tide can turn in my home state.
Happy holidays, merry Christmas, etc., Volaris! :pals:

7. 7 out of 10 people here in OK tend to agree with Inhofe and Coburn.

This place has become a bastion of extreme RW groupthink. Anyone with a different opinion is instantly written off as a pansy liberal who hates America. You either go along with the groupthink or just keep your mouth shut because there is no debating with my fellow Oklahoman's.

I had a long talk with my dad last night -- he's a former football coach and retired Army officer, and a true progressive who was happy to tell me how proud he was that DADT was on its way to repeal -- and he told me his secret for dealing with fellow Oklahomans. He's also dying of liver and pancreatic cancer. His method of dealing with extreme RW groupthink: "I'm not going to spend the time I have left second-guessing what the Bible teaches about judging or what I learned in the military about treating other soldiers with trust and honor. I'm a Christian and a patriot. But you go on and do whatever you think is right."
