Right Wing Watch alerts us that the Tea Party Nation sent out an e-mail blast this morning with a message from Rick Swier, who warned that the "The White Anglo-Saxon Protestant (WASP) population in America is headed for extinction and with it our economy, well-being and survival as a uniquely America culture."

Warning that the "country is dying not because it is aging, it is dying because of infertility as public policy," Swiers writers that some of the reasons white people are doomed are because:

-- "What is keeping America's fertility rate up are immigrants -- both legal and illegal"

-- Continuous attacks on "the family, bent on redefining marriage" which have led to "anti-family government programs" ......(more)

2. People aren't necessarily infertile on a grand scale....

But people, as they get more and more educated, procreate less and less. And with Christianity pumping out more atheists every second, less and less people are getting knocked up. I wouldn't bring a kid into this world at this point. I will probably at some point adopt a kid out of Foster Care and give a kid a home who is already here and needs someone. But I will not procreate. Partly because they want me to. LOL

4. Many years ago I heard that a real indicator of the health of a society

is the birth rate. When it falls below replacement rate, people in the fertile years are unwilling to bring children into an effed up situation.
IIRC the birth rate in Russia (USSR) fell substantially in the '60s and '70s.
Heard on NPR that white birth rate in the US was @1% which I believe is < replacement rate.

that happened when DS was in hs. he was heckled while playing bb at one of the sierra foothills high schools (teabagger rebel flag wingers, i worked with some), called the n word, monkey and all that. yes, there are still parts of cali that are quite racist, central valley, yes. oregon....not california, but there a lot of ex-californians there.

When you have a class of people who have been the majority beneficiaries of a system, placing them in a higher standard of living than other classes, then, when that system begins to crumble it will affect those more who it benefited more from that system but are not high enough on the totem pole to avoid being affected.

On the other hand, the class of people who have not benefited as much and have had to deal with lower standards of living are already use to dealing with what the higher class is not use to. In some aspects they are affected much less in bad economic times than the higher class. Therefore its not much of a surprise to see the higher class population rate decrease while the lower class continuing on as it has been.

So this is not in as much a race issue as it is an economic issue. It only appears to be a race issue due to the fact that non whites have traditionally comprised the majority of the lower classes. Therefore I'd be willing to bet that the part of the lower class which are white are no different, and I bet their population isn't decreasing. Their population curve probably is no different now than it was before too.

So in my opinion this is not a race issue, this is an economic distribution issue coming to the surface in bad economic times.
