Many are still working, and will continue where they can.

Millions of them are unemployed, and have been for a year or two. They may take SSI, or they might continue to
try and find a paycheck. Or both.

On the other hand, it should be a great year for birthday candle manufacturers.

just dropping back to part time employment, if they can find it. Most of them won't have much more than Social Security to support them, thanks to 40 years of conservative bungling by both parties that allowed pensions to be looted and the economy trashed.

Boomers, as usual, are taking it up the bum economically.

or whatever. Few are wealthy enough to simply sit around and watch the money roll in.

15. Maybe more jobs will be available, but FWIW, just because people CAN

retire does not mean they will. I know several people who plan on working till they are at least 70, some till it is impossible to work any more. I retired as soon as it was financially possible (at age 59), and never regreted it for a moment.

It is sometimes better to consider people as individuals rather than in groups.
