"A Heart For Pine Ridge" started in 1997 with one woman's trip through the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota. After witnessing first-hand the conditions that our First Nations people were living in, something moved in her heart and thus the journey began. What was initially a few online contacts with various organizations or non-profits, soon became an annual trip to the reservation to bring whatever supplies she could gather or afford and now has grown into a group of friends connected by a common goal to help our Oglala Lakota brothers and sisters any way they can.

4. I didn't get it from there

A dear friend of mine had it on her facebook page. We had snow yesterday and temps in the single digits last night, windchill dangerously low. I could only imagine what it would be like, not to have heat, or very little of it.

I am blessed, and being such, I can share my blessings with others in need.

The saddest place I have ever been is the Pine Ridge res in SD. The poverty is just gut wrenching.
