Probably controversial ratings - but...Blue Valentine - *** Rabbit Hole - **1/2

We are just not doing well with recent American releases - my rating for The Kids Are Alright would be **1/2 as well. I am finding recent American movies either over-the-top, overacted/overscriped (Kids are Alright), too star-focused/dark (Rabbit Hole), or the plot just doesn't hold together (Blue Valentine) - which was also very dark. Once again we will bounce back toward foreign flicks!

1. I've been taking up the slack with British TV

American movies seem to have a season. They don't release anything good until closer to Academy Award season. Very annoying.
