It shows not only the natural world but also the human interactions with the natural world, such as the creatures who live in the rice paddies or the ways in which Chinese people are helping or hindering the survival of plants and animals.
Oh, and it's not available on streaming, but it is downloadable from iTunes, but I highly recommend The Human Planet, which is about how humans have adapted to different global environments: rivers, ocean shores, deserts, mountains, etc. I've seen two episodes so far, and it's full of scenes that make you wonder, "How the hell did they get that shot?" Download it in HD if you can.
