Why doesn't Netflix allow you to rate in 1/2 star increments?

Why doesn't Netflix allow you to rate in 1/2 star increments?
Often they'll say I'd rate a movie 3 1/2 stars and sure enough, that's what I'd rate it. But I have to choose either 3 or 4 stars. Not a big deal, but if you're not going to have a 10 star rating system, you should at least be able to make it more accurate.

1. I agree, it's hard to rate sometimes with only 5
On the other hand, how important is it? Not very in the great scheme of things.
