About how WWII vets struggled to resume any sort of normal life when they returned home. Wonderful acting - just a classic worth rediscovering - especially with its current day relevance.

What "The Grapes Of Wrath" was to the Great Depression this film is the definitive post WWII movie.

The first time I saw it I'd never heard of it, and had the TV on in the background as we were getting ready to go out. It got to the speech that ends with "...well, you see, I've got a girl" and we decided to be very late to our party. Phenomenal film, and certainly some of the most real depictions of relationships that I've seen in a movie from that era...
