| Couple of things that I wish for re: Netflix |
|
I wish that the streaming service allowed some of the basic functionality of the online service. For instance...
1. I wish that I could flag certain titles with a "not interested" marker so that I don't have to get past The Secret every time I browse the sci-fi section. Likewise, I don't want to have to move past Loose Change the documentaries. Users should be able to exclude titles from the listing that's offered to them.
2. I wish that I could scroll through a movie's description so that it's not truncated mid-way through.
3. I wish that clicking on a category within a movie's description (e.g., "psychological horror comedy") would bring up a listing of other films in that genre. Without this function, what's the point of listing it at all?
4. I wish that clicking on a browsing category would bring up a full-screen display of films in that category, rather than two dozen or so films that you can only see by scrolling left and right.
5. I wish that I could set my default categories.
6. I wish that I could delete films from my "recently watched" list. If I watch five minutes of Sharktopus and then bag it, I don't want that awful film to show up on my "recently watched" for the next few weeks.
Other suggestions for a wish-list? For that matter, if you know of any workarounds for the wishes that I've listed, please let me know. I'm still fairly new to the Wii/Netflix game, so I might easily be missing some basic operations.

| 1. We go through our Wii to stream - my main wish would be much better search - |
|
So when I put in the letter "A" , ALL streamable movies that begin with "A" come up, not just two pages.

| 2. Agree about being able to delete |
|
titles that we've seen.
In fact, I wish the devices that we stream through (we have a Seagate) would allow the same interface as the PC. The Seagate only shows what's in your queue one screen at a time fashion. I have close to 200 titles and it gets a little wearisome wading through things.
And Orrex, you're the second person after my SO, who so obviously enjoys saying "sharktopus."

| 3. You can flag titles with not interested |
|
There's a box under the star rating area that you can click. Unless I'm misunderstanding what you are saying.

| 4. Can that be done when streamed to tv? |
|
I know that we can do that online, but if it's available as part of the streaming function it would be awesome!

| 8. Yeah, my OP could have been clearer in that regard |
|
I mentioned it briefly but didn't really underscore what I was talking about.
Still, you raise an interesting point that I'll have to test: if I use the online service to mark a film "not interested," does it boot it from my streaming service as well? That would be handy!

that they would add new movies to the streaming service on Tuesdays, matching the date of new DVD releases. I don't expect actual new releases every week, but it would be nice to know when to expect new offerings to show up.

| 12. it is hard to find things unless you know what you are looking for. |
|
and what with my 'eileen's favorites' all full of cartoons my kids watch, it makes it hard to find something i want to watch. i wish they had a better way to search. like maybe to search by actor like you can do online or maybe keyword or something. i end up having to search on my computer and add it to my queue so i can watch something.

of the Netflix screen. You can search by title and actor so far. Subject might return a good bit if you are familiar with NF categories that interest you.

I wish I could search by actor and/or be able to browse a complete section of movies/shows. As it is now they don't list everything and all I can do is search by title. I have to first browse Netflix on my computer to find something I want to watch because they list everything and you can search by actor. Searching for titles only helps if you know what to watch beforehand.

that Netflix stop jerking its customers around. Season 3 of Dexter concluded Dec 08. Talked to customer service a couple of days ago, Season 3 is still on a "very long wait". No explanation why. Unless the disks are being hand engraved, the only other explanation I can think of is a corporate slinging match.
Anyone have any insights?
