Do you have varnished pine kitchen cabinets?

I seem to be having a heck of a time finding a good cleaner. Most I pick up at the store say,"do not use on varnished surfaces".

Although the cabinets look OK, in certain light I can see spots and fingerprints. Years ago I stripped and refinished them but I don't have the energy for that anymore.
I tried Murphy's but it did not seem to remove what look like grease spatters.

Have you had any luck with a certain cleaner that I might buy?

1. Simple Green.

I use it on a lot of things.

2. Is that the one advertised on Ed Schultz radio show?

I think wooden varnished (or whatever they're finished with) kitchen and bath cabinets are impossible to clean. I have some in an apartment I'm in right now, and the management did not clean them after the last tenant, and I can't either. Give me shiny enamel paint in the kitchen any day.

5. No, thats Biogreen Clean

Which is not as effective as the advertisements claim, btw. Based on my experience with it, I would not use it on wood.

4. Simple Green has to be really diluted

or it streaks your paint and varnish in my experience.

3. Get a steam cleaner.

I have a Shark Europro. Its absolutely fantastic for cleaning virtually anything. Does a great job on my varnished pine kitchen cabinet doors. The hot steam cuts through the dirt right away.

6. Take the doors off

I did that to mine and so much happier.
