BAGHDAD - The chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff, General Richard Myers, landed in Baghdad on Tuesday with a group of American celebrities in tow.

Myers arrived from Kuwait Tuesday at a military base near the capital’sinternational airport along with comedian Robin Williams, American football star Jon Elway and US model Leeann Tweeden.

Myers was last in Baghdad November 15 during the US-led military’s massive assault on the rebel stronghold of Fallujah and also visited Iraq in April and May of this year.

His visit Tuesday comes as US and Iraqi forces struggle to bring order to the country ahead of national elections now scheduled for January 30.
