I can tell you that North Dakota raises pretty smart kids. Many of whom, like me, are smart enough to leave as soon as they're old enough. ;)

When I was a kid my dad used to take the hood off one of the many old beater cars they had junked out at the ranch, turn it over, tie it to the back of his car, and take us sledding that way. It was fun. Stupid, but fun.
