September 3 diary entry .... "We were successful in extricating 73 people out of the area that were still trapped. Unfortunately, one lady died when we got her back to the camp. Her body temperature had risen to the point where the dehydration was so that she died from exposure"

The SAR team was equipped to be self-sufficient for a 10-day deployment period. While there were still many lives to be saved, FEMA sent the Vancouver team packing. My quess is that FEMA does not want the rest of the world to know that many victims survived the hurricane and the flood only to die of dehydration and heat exhaustion due to FEMA's non-response.
