To read a little optimism on DU!
While my hopes are similar to yours this is no time to be complacent!!!
Too many so-called Democrats are completely beholden to corporations and industries whose interests don't coincide with ours. In fact our interests are generally just the opposite of theirs.
Be very careful about who you support. Look below the patina, the veneer of all politicians is polished to such a gleaming shininess that their core values are obscured enough for voters to be confused enough make stupid choices!
