Their hypocrisy blinds them to the fact that they are miserable failures. The chimp in chief thinks that he was picked by guhAWduh to do the job. And since his guhAWduh can not make mistakes, all of the things that normally would appear to be horrible fuckups to any sane individual must have some purpose. The purpose might not be evident and is certainly not to be questioned and brings the comforting thoughts that the mistakes is not his. Hopefully, his next "vision" or whatever tells him to make a leap of faith from the White House roof after ordering Darth incarcerated.
