APThe white supremacist accused of opening fire at the U.S. Holocaust Memorial Museum went last month to the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis to complain about minority enrollment at the school.
An academy spokesman tells The Associated Press that James von Brunn entered an administration building on May 29, seeking a meeting with academy officials.
Academy spokesman Cmdr. Joe Carpenter says von Brunn didn't meet with a senior academy official, but instead spoke with a school staff member.
Carpenter says von Brunn did not interact with midshipmen and was not considered a safety threat. However, he says academy staff quickly notified Navy authorities "as a result of the extreme views he expressed regarding minorities."
