Right now, the Social Security Administration has half a trillion dollars in contributions from undocumented workers. But those workers shouldn't receive any benefit from having made those contributions because they're undocumented, right? We should just be allowed to keep that money for ourselves, you figure? How about all of the money paid by undocumented immigrants in sales tax? Astonishingly, undocumented immigrants don't get to go into a store and refuse to pay sales tax because they're undocumented. In many states, sales tax accounts for a huge percentage of state tax revenue. Do we get to just keep that money as well? And, of course, the majority of undocumented immigrants pay income tax as well, as it is automatically withheld from their pay by their employers, just as it is for every other employee in the country. But we ought to be able to keep that money and offer nothing in return because our corporations offered them jobs and, in some instances, even assistance crossing the border illegally, and they heinously accepted our invitation, right?
