it's exactly the sort of thing the CIA does. If you can't send in politicians, and you can't send in the army, send in the CIA; para-militairy operations. They did this in south america; place bombs in churches and blame it on some party they wanted removed. Not on their own initiative btw.

(set the Reichstag on fire, crash planes in skyscrapers, what else is new.)

I also would not be surprised if Taylor's accusation that the US is financing rebels in order to secure diamonds and gold in Liberia, is true.
