7. Doesn't Matter One Bit
Nader isn't running to be elected President, he's running to split the
Democrats and destroy the Democratic party. It is unlikely that
he could throw California to Booosh, and staying off the ballot
here prevents people from doing the "Nader trader" thing (which
Nader actually sued to stop in 2000). Nader traders were taking
Nader at his word -- that he was going for the 5% nationally. His
actions, of course, were to conduct a deliberate spoiler campaign.

In 2000, Nader's campaign was all about the swing states -- all he
did in California then was raise money. He spent nearly all of
October in states where Gore was just a little bit ahead, spreading
the idea that there was no difference between them, but nonetheless
attacking only Gore, and getting a few percent to vote for him instead
of Gore. It worked. It made the election close enough for * to steal.

If the Repubs wanted Nader on the ballot in California, he would be.

Though the Repub's increasingly overt support of Nader could be
backfiring two ways: The lefties who would have supported Nader
in the past are driven away, and some Repubs who are disgusted with
Booosh may use this implicit endorsement as an excuse to vote for
Nader if they've absorbed too much repub propaganda to vote Kerry.
There was one recent poll that showed Bush* doing *worse* with Nader
in the race.
