5. The Martyrs of the Mahdi Army will be remembered for thousands of years
In Iraq. That's just part of how this ancient holy land works.

I believe Moqtada al-Sadr's grandfather was martyred in an uprising against a British Occupation (that occupation failed to), and al-Sadr's father was a martyr in an uprising against Sadam Hussein. So he has this respected "give me liberty or give me death" family tradition.

But I think this last stand at the holiest of Shia Shrines, (which they also believe to be the burial place of the first man, Adam), will be something that truely ralleys and defines them for thousands of years. The Marines have no idea what they are getting into!
