They are a WarMachine - plain and simple - if the Middle East had no oil - the YouKnighted Staytes of Amurikkka wouldn't be there

and a WarMachine such as the USA"s needs oil more than anything - well, 'cept for willing yungun's to be cannon fodder, and there seems to be a dwindling supply of them too - so need more remote weapons (ergo "star wars")
