of course threats to security are global - the US has been providing breeding grounds for terrorism everywhere.
of course the threats to the economy are global - you sold it to everyone, under a triple A guise.

I'm sorry, the above is what came to mind first. There are several rebuttals I can come up with myself, but I'm just gonna let it stand and see what you all think.

And the reason why I let it stand, is my dislike of the (PNAC) unipolar world with a lone superpower (insert defense budget comparison) being supported by american exceptionalism.

Before you flame away, I do think the elite screwing us are global - and the suffering by workers is equally global, but unfortunately less organized. Last thing I want to do is alienate fellow progressives.
