is my take. Tenet's been gone for ages, he just hadn't left yet. He's such an obvious dumpee I can't get excited. It's not like he's one of the boys. He was hanging out there waiting for the appropriate time for them to cut him lose.

Tenet is the least of our worries. Since every current scandal has the word CIA in it somewhere, they figure now's a good time to get rid of him and show everybody that the root of all current problems has been dealt with. No matter that the CIA didn't set the stage for torture, most likely didn't leak Plame's name, and warned often enough for ME to know about it that there probably weren't many WMDs left in Iraq. The average TV watcher thinks: scandals/CIA/director-resigns/problem-solved.
