28. Hamilton is being totally disingenuous.
First, the kids aren't so delicate their lives would be marred by an adult disappointing them. There is such a thing as priorities.

Second, it's not an either/or situation. Bush didn't have to "rush" out of the room. He could have said he was sorry, but there was something only the President could do, and he had to go do it. Or lots of other excuses. And gotten his ass out of there.

I bought that explanation for about ten minutes, then reasoned thought took over.
