5. Something else to consider
When I have time to reflect on it, Carlyle scares the bejeezus out of me, and I see very little discussion of why on this board or anywhere:

It's a privately held company; there is no governmental oversight whatsoever, nor any reporting requirements, etc. I don't think it's even a corporation, and if not it doesn't have to comply with the minimal reporting standards requiired of corporations.

There just aren't any oversight or brakes that can be applied to this organization. Eventually -- if left unchecked -- I think it will own a very large percentage of the whole world. It's the future of capitalism: unchecked, unfettered, unbound.
