Political shuck and jive, yes. McCarthyism implies a higher standard of corruption and deceit. Pelosi and Murtha are being attacked for being independent, for getting out of line and speaking up. Pelosi really has no choice, she will be toast if she remains overtly loyal to the war party.

It is no accident Whittmann works for the DLC. The DLC will choose a Democratic Party in ruins, so long as it retains control of the rubble. One need merely observe the continued use of divisive and corrosive tactics against the elected party leadership and dissenters in the party membership to see this. And this bit from Whittmann is a perfect example of that.
