1) "Don't worry, America, you won't have to pay, yet again, for your government's complete refusal to regulate the corporations that are rapidly destroying your way of life, because, my dear America, there's PLENTY of government regulation and oversight already in place. You definitely shouldn't even think of demanding any new protections. Your way of life is safe. Don't you just love the new iphone?"

2) "This spill can and will be cleaned up. There won't be any real, lasting environmental damage. No sirreee! Nothing to see here! Nope! Just move right along and this lil' bit o' ocean juice will be fixed lickety split! We have lots of other current and future offshore oil drilling sites that you should love, too. We'll just keep drillin', baby, drillin' and you don't need to worry your pretty little heads about a thing. Just a couple rolls of 'Bounty, the quicker picker-upper' and your Gulf Coast will be good as new."
