5. I think any liberal who plans to vote is an optimist.
I'll give you an example of pessimism that is very non-constructive. I am so angry at my friend. I almost yelled at her on the phone, because she went on again how she doesn't vote, because all politicians and government are corrupt and there is no justice in the world. I tried to tell her, 'That's because there are too many people who won't do anything! We are going to be the most hated generation in American history if we don't get Bush out of office. I could live in my own little world, but can't stand the thought of my child, grandchildren and great grandchildren cleaning up the mess Bush is making on our generation's watch.' She then said, 'Well, if someone blames me for this mess, I have a clear conscience. I've never voted in my life.' That was after she made a comment about Bush on the phone I hope the FBI didn't get wind of, or the S.S. will be at her door in the next couple of hours. This used to be an intelligent woman. If she feels that way, why doesn't she get off her ass and vote!!!! I'm to the point where I am considering not hanging around people who are this hedonistic and apathetic.
