Every time key personnel quit or get fired the issues behind what ever scandal surfaced remain but the publicity fades. What prominent and scandalous news out of the Treasury Department has surfaced since the departure of Treasury Secretary Paul O'Neill and White House Economic Advisor Lawrence Lindsay?

Has the E.P.A. stopped enacting anti-environmental actions since Christie Todd Whitman resigned? I don't think so since Bush is going full speed ahead to poison us with mercury.

Getting rid of Tenet would not help, because he would serve as a useful scapegoat for BushCo in addition to the fact that Freepers already hate him as a Clinton appointee.

Finally on the subject of Rummy. The fact that things are getting so fucked up in Iraq hurts Bush's election chances. Replacing Rummy before November might win him some votes with his base and swing voters. They would see as a responsible step that BushCo has taken to correct mistakes the administration has made.

As the opposition don't we want as many lightening rods as possible? Better that these people remain where they are in order to sink Bush than be replaced and provide the cosmetic appearance of repair.
