18. Love this idea!
Don't have a blog, but do have a lot of time on my hands today - so offer for consideration the following random picks found by typing in 'fair and balanced' on a Google search:

Fair and Balanced
June 9, 2002
by Tom Barrett

Using a phrase from Fox News, readers who disagree with my point of view often ask, "Do you call that fair and balanced?" Actually, no, I don’t. Look at the name: Conservative Truth. I like to think that we provide what Paul Harvey calls, "The rest of the story."

A Fair and Balanced Report

By Stanley O. Ikenberry
Stanley O. Ikenberry, former president of the University of Illinois, is now president of the American Council on Education.

THE MEMBERS of the National Commission on the Cost of Higher Education deserve our thanks. The final report, “Straight Talk About College Costs and Prices,” is thoughtful. It is useful. It is fair and balanced. And I hope it will receive careful attention from the academic community.

Statement of Senator Patrick Leahy,
Chairman, Senate Judiciary Committee
Bankruptcy Reform Bill Conference
May 22, 2002

I thank Chairman Sensenbrenner and his staff for working with the Senate conferees and our staff in a bipartisan manner to get us to the point today where only one issue separates the House and Senate conferees from reaching agreement on a fair and balanced bankruptcy reform conference report. That issue is the practice of perpetrators who use violence, threats or obstruction to deny access to health clinics and then abuse the nation’s bankruptcy laws to avoid accountability for their actions.

Automobile Protection Association Study of Repair Shops Fundamentally Flawed

More fair and balanced study needed to properly educate motorists

OTTAWA, ON, April 15 /CNW/ - Automotive Industries Association of Canada
(AIA) President Ray Datt expressed serious concerns about the findings in the Automobile Protection Association's (APA) 2003 report on automotive repair facilities.
Citing the study as fundamentally flawed, the AIA believes that the study should be considered only in that context and that a more fair and balanced study would help educate consumers and make the customer experience the best that it can be.
The AIA, which represents more than 225,000 Canadians employed in the
automotive aftermarket industry, of which 90,000 are automotive repair
technicians, believes the 2003 APA study is one-sided and unfair.

Final Independent report concludes no evidence of bias

27/7/1998
The ABC today released the final part of an independent report which the Corporation commissioned into its radio and television coverage of the recent national waterfront dispute. The report "AM, The World Today and PM: ABC Radio Coverage of the Waterfront Dispute, April-May 1998" has found that it was not possible to judge ABC radio's performance as 'biased', concluding that its coverage was "professional, fair and in line with journalistic norms and responsibilities."

The first report, released on May 29, examined ABC television coverage of the dispute. That report also found the ABC's coverage was fair and balanced.

LACA Position on
Copyright in the Digital Environment
October 2000
LACA is The Library Association Copyright Alliance which is the main UK body lobbying for the library, information and archive professions and their users for fair practices in copyright. Its aims are:

to act as an expert body providing advice and guidance to the sector and to other relevant bodies;
to monitor changes in copyright legislation affecting the sector;
to encourage and lobby the UK and EU governments to make fair and balanced copyright laws;
to work closely with other UK and international consumer groups on copyright;
to promote respect and understanding of copyright among the library, information and archive community.
In the copyright debate, LACA represents the interests of UK library, information and archive professionals and their users. Copyright law impacts on most of what libraries do. It affects the services that libraries can provide to their users, and the conditions on which they can provide access to copyright materials. It affects the way in which information professionals can act as navigational agents and undertake effective archiving and preservation activities. It is for these reasons that LACA actively lobbies in the copyright debate.

From the Office of State Senator Todd Staples

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
July 28, 2003

AUSTIN -- Today marked the end of the First Called Special Session of the 78th Legislature and the beginning of a new special session called by Governor Perry almost immediately upon adjournment. State Senator Todd Staples (R-Palestine) today filed Senate Bill 1, the first bill of the Second Called Special Session.

Staples filed the same Redistricting Plan (01327C) under the new bill name, SB 1.

"Plan 01327C will serve as the starting point to get the process moving again," stated Staples. "This proposal is open to suggestions and changes, and I welcome and encourage all of my Senate colleagues' to work with me in order to create a map that reflects the will of the majority of the Legislature."

Although no map can be perfect, Staples has stated repeatedly his goals were to craft a fair and balanced proposal and to keep the process moving. Plan 01327C will not be the final map adopted by the legislature as Staples will continue to work with his Senate colleagues to make improvements.

5. Fair and Balanced Regulatory Relief

As in previous years, NASAA will work with Congress on a regulatory relief bill that is an appropriate balance between regulatory efficiency and protections for all investors. It must be attentive to the concerns of those who wish to ensure that efficiency does not undermine the system of investor protection.

Couldn't find any fairandbalanced .com, .net or .org, but did come across this:

Finally, there's this one- The singularly most egregious thievery of the phrase. Or maybe not. The date reads July 1, 1993. Well before fox news claimed it as their own. Perhaps President Clinton should tell them to cease and desist. Darn copycats.

THE WHITE HOUSE

Office of the Press Secretary

For Immediate Release July 1, 1993
REMARKS BY THE PRESIDENT
IN FOREST ANNOUNCEMENT

Old Executive Office Building

10:34 A.M. EDT

The plan is more difficult than I had thought it would be in terms of the size of the timber cuts, in part because during this process the amount of timber actually in the forest and available for cutting was revised downward sharply, in no small measure because of years of overcutting, and in a way that provides an annual yield smaller than timber interests had wanted, and a plan without some of the protections that environmentalists had sought. I can only say that as with every other situation in life, we have to play the hand we were dealt. Had this crisis been dealt with years ago we might have a plan with a higher yield and with more environmentally protected areas. We are doing the best we can with the facts as they now exist in the Pacific Northwest.

I believe the plan is fair and balanced. I believe it will protect jobs and offer new job opportunities where they must be found. It will preserve the woodlands, the rivers, the streams that make the Northwest an attractive place to live and to visit. We believe in this case it is clear that the Pacific Northwest requires both a healthy economy and a healthy environment and that one cannot exist without the other.
