8. I think you probably know the answer to that already...
not that I like it anymore than you do. If you consider the fact that the Dems are going to have a hell of a time just bringing ethics charges against DeLay (there has been a rider introduced with other legislation that would prohibit the charges), then you have it clearly spelled out. Unless something actually stirs up the populace (not just us) * will probably leave office smirking all the way to the bank, and the country will have experienced the greatest damage in it's history. Impeachment proceedings are not even possible (nor politically smart) at this point. For one thing, with the legislature stacked as it is, no impeachment proceedings would survive in either part of the legislature. Second, and perhaps more importantly, impeachement hearings at this point would only get that SOB a sympathy vote (I can just see Poopy and the creature from the black lagoon (with emphasis on Goon) standing in front of the * residential funny book collection, with faux tears running down their cheeks, talking about how mean we are to their ill-begotten spawn, and the RWers would probably respond. I say we wait until he's out of office and then make sure that a democratic congress investigates each and every pardon that POS issues before leaving. Next stop would be the ICC, as we will have demonstrated that we are incapable or unwilling to prosecute * and his sorry minions ourselves. (rant off)
