speedy confirmation hearing which would make me believe that he supports this. He probably supports it because having a knock down drag out fight that close to election is probably politically dangerous.

Kerry joined Republicans and many Democrats in calling for swift confirmation hearings for Bush's choice of a fellow Yale alumnus

"The most important thing we can do right now is reform and strengthen our intelligence services as the 9/11 commission has recommended. Maybe this is the out Kerry can use to get rid of him once elected.

You can bet your butt that if Kerry wasn't supporting this the Dems wouldn't be backing down. The only reason I haven't popped a vein over Kerry's support of this is the thought that he will fire him once elected.
