Prescription drug bill costs bush* votes

One of my co-workers has been sitting on the "no-difference-fence" - yesterday she got off the fence and landed squarely on the Kerry-side.

Her mother is on several different medications. Previously the meds would cost her about $200 a month out of pocket. This past weekend she had her prescriptions refilled and almost ended up in the hospital with a heart attack --- under the "*NEW IMPROVED - SAVE MONEY*" presription plan -- her same meds are now costing her $600 a month.

Her pharmacist explained that the drug companies raised their prices.

My co-worker is now making arrangements for her mother to board a bus and take a once-a-month trip to Canada. To hold her over until the next bus trip to Canada her doctor has given her "samples".

Meanwhile, she and the rest of the family are in the process of changing their voter registration from Republican/Independent to Democratic.

Has anyone else seen a dramatic rise in drug prices in their area?
