52. I don't think that is quite true
The Catholic Church did not support this invasion. Some Bishops here thought they could go over the Pope's head on this one and said it was ok to support the invasion, but that was not the official stance of the Church.

I also don't think the Episcopal church supported the invasion and I would guess the same about the liberal version of the Presbytarian church.

Also, a "majority of Americans" may call themselves "Christian" but as for their holding church membership, I don't think the numbers are quite as high. Or, if they are, they don't account for people who "belong" to a church but do not attend.
