Support for Chimp in military. Genuine?

I keep hearing and reading things that indicate growing discontent with the administration. For example, there were apparently bootleg copies of F-911 being shown in Iraq and a lot of soldiers were watching it and upset by the film. It got so bad that it was affecting morale in some units. But at the same time, I keep seeing polls that have Bush scoring really high with military personnel. I'm not sure I believe it. Military folks tend to be very afraid to express opinions or admit to things that differ from the "official" line. When I was in the Navy, drug use was fairly common despite the zero tolerance and harsh penalties. I admit to partaking a few times myself. The DOD conducted anonymous surveys on personnel issues. I remember always answering "no" to the question of drug use. I just had a nagging suspicion that my answers could be traced back to me. I think a lot of others felt the same way because it would always come out with only 1-2% admitting to it. There's no way in hell the number was that low. When my ship was in Canada 80% of the crew would be getting stoned. So I'm wondering if that's what's going on with the alleged Bush support. It just doesn't add up to me.
