Will Lolita C Baldor or AP apologize for being insensitive assholes?

Last night Rosemary Kennedy died. The AP headline was:

Retarded Kennedy sister dies at 86

It was posted with the correct title in LBN..I was astounded that a national news service would post such an insensitive, archaic headline with a word that has not CREDIBLY been used for at least a decade now to describe people with mental challenges.

This morning the AP title has been changed to:

Kennedy who inspired Special Olympics dies

But the body of the article still contains the IGNORANT term;

mentally retarded

If our press is so ignorant, is it any wonder why the populace is?

By LOLITA C. BALDOR
ASSOCIATED PRESS WRITER

WASHINGTON -- Rosemary Kennedy, the oldest sister of President John F. Kennedy and the inspiration for the Special Olympics, died Friday. She was 86.

Kennedy, the third child of Rose and Joseph Kennedy, was born mentally retarded and underwent a lobotomy when she was 23. She lived most of her life in a Jefferson, Wis., institution, the St. Coletta School for Exceptional Children.
