50. What good does it do to lie with pigs
when in the end you simply end up like them? There were many that rationalized their inclusion into the Nazi party. And some indeed tried to stop the madness. And I like you hope this is the case. But he's done things in the past that are questionable. :-(

I have a few republican friends who are horrified by this whole election. In fact one voted for Kerry because she couldn't abide by King George one more time.

I cried for 4 days after the announcement and my husband and I debated if we should even stay in this country. But we're both veterans and love our country and to leave would mean it can't be saved. It it can. All chickens eventually come home to roost.

As for King George, people don't really change. He was a spoiled playboy when he was young and I bet he's still doing the same things. I don't think it was a slip of the tongue when Condi said (when asked about something) "I need to ask my Hus.........the president". funny how the news didn't report this slip more then a few times. But it does make you wonder........

We must make sure that the next election is honest and we must prepare for the fight for both houses. We only have a bit of time to prepare. The Democratic party must grow some "stones". It seems that Barbara (from Calif who led the charge against Condi) is one of the few that has any. At least that's what my DH said after hearing her. Neither of us are Democrats, we are independents, but we're pulling for the party. Of course one thing we must do is get more people to vote (my favorite line is would you allow someone to pick out your clothes or decide if you can watch a movie? You say no, yet you do this very thing by allowing 37% of this country to make decisions for you because they vote. Funny how many people registered and voted because of this. If that doesn't work I keep hammering. Statements such as " You know over 90% of Canadians vote. Are they more democratic then us?" Funny the things you can say in the checkout line and the conversations that are started.

If we had 100% of our nation voting we could actually have an impact on the choices our leaders make. Right now the corporations have money but we have votes and votes are more valuable.....sorry I'll step down from the soapbox now. I need to get to bed anyway...

Keep up the good fight. :D
